Caylye received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles with a double major in Economics and Political Science. She received her juris doctor from the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Texas, where she graduated with high honors and was a staff editor for the Texas Journal of Oil, Gas and Energy Law. She also earned academic achievement awards in Contracts, Civil Procedure, and International Law.
